Community caretaker program
Community Caretakers Needed – Help the vulnerable in our community!
As you know, it takes a village to care for one another, and The Woman's Club of Wilmette is working with the Village of Wilmette to do just that. While we’re all eagerly awaiting our place in line for the COVID-19 vaccine, we could really use your help with caring for our vulnerable neighbors. With technology being the primary method to secure a COVID-19 vaccine, some of our most vulnerable may not have the technological ability to schedule a much-needed vaccination appointment. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following tasks. Bilingual skills are a plus:
- Reach out to residents to assess their need
- Assist in registering for the COVID-19 vaccine
- As the vaccine supply increases, help to schedule vaccine appointments
- Transportation to vaccine appointments
If you know of any vulnerable neighbors that need help registering for the vaccine, or when the time comes, need transportation to their appointment, please email us at
communityservice@womansclubofwilmette.org or call 847-251-0527 and we will match them with a Community Caretaker. Let’s work together as we take care of one another during this time.
